Everything We Know About Yuphoria

YU Yuphoria to Launch on 12th May, 2015

Last year in December when Micromax created a subsidiary named YU Televentures and launched a Cyanogen OS powered Device, Yureka and in less than four months have already sold more than 2.5 lacs devices using the controversial but effective flash sale model exclusively on Amazon India. The device was extremely popular given its low cost and impressive specs.

Given the popularity of the new brand it was hardly a surprise that a new model is being launched next Tuesday. The device itself was teased back in March with codename Project Caesar in an exclusive by BGR . A competition was held by YU Social Media Team to name the device after which it was officially renamed to YU Yuphoria. After the naming of the device the YU Team has teased the device specs details in numerous promotional images and videos. So here's a list of everything we have learned from the tease so far.


YUphoria will run on CM12


Lollipop 


Lollipop updates has been the selling point of YU devices, where Yureka was promised before the actual launch of the device itself though it was delayed. But the Yuphoria will come out of the box with Cyanogen OS 12 or Android Lollipop 5.0.2.






64 bit, 2GB RAM, 16GB


Processor, RAM and Internal Memory

Though the actual processor is unknown but it is confirmed to be 64-bit architecture.

Device will have a 16 GB of internal storage as well as 2 GB of RAM which was already the case with Yureka, so no upgrade here. A slot for external SD card is to be expected.




Built



The device will have a metal body as was teased in the 'floor-breaking' video from Rahul Sharma's Twitter feed.

Sound



Looking at the video it is evident that device will have a high quality speaker most probably one with stereo.

Other Details

As Cyanogen recently has made deals with Boxer and Truecaller both these applications will be pre-installed in the YUphoria.
