CyanogenMod manual installation guide for YU Yureka Yureka Plus (tomato, YU5510, AO5510)
CyanogenMod Nightlies on Yureka/Yureka Plus |
Yureka and it's successor Yureka Plus was among the first devices to be launched by YU. The presence of CyanogenMod made sure for exciting possibility of using custom ROM in the device. In this installation guide we have put together steps on how to install the nightlies from CyanogenMod on your Yureka, Yureka Plus running with tomato ROM. You can also use this install any other ROM available on the internet.
For those unable to use Jio 4G Sim on your Yureka you can use this guide and install any ROM which supports VoLTE.
Note: Nightlies are not official build so it may contain some bugs and/or stability issues be sure to check them out before installation.

Requirements:
1. YU Yureka/Yureka Plus with unlocked bootloader
If you don't have unlocked bootloader check the official guide here
2. TeamWin Recovery Image
3. PC with working fastboot and adb
4. Latest Nightlies Zip Package for YU Yureka/Yureka Plus (tomato, YU5110, AO5510)
5. Google Apps Package
Once you have unlocked bootloader of your Yureka/Yureka Plus and downloaded the zip package and recovery proceed to the steps below:
Installing recovery using fastboot
- Connect Yureka/Yureka Plus to the computer via USB
- place the recovery image in the same directory as fastboot
- Open command prompt and reboot the device into fastboot mode using
adb reboot bootloader
alternatively you can use the hardware keys - Flash recovery onto your device by entering the following command:fastboot flash recovery your_recovery_image.img
Verify the installation of recovery by holding the Volume Down and Power buttons and check whether it goes into recovery or not.
Installing CyanogenMod from recovery
Boot to recovery mode now:
- With the device powered down, hold the Volume Down and Power buttons.
Place the CyanogenMod
.zip
package, as well as any optional .zip
packages, on the root of /sdcard
:- Using adb:
adb push filename.zip /sdcard/
- In Team Win Recovery Project, select menu choices by tapping on the appropriately labelled button.
- Optional (Recommended): Select the Backup button to create a backup.
- Select Wipe and then Factory Reset.
- Select Install (if you're running Cyanogen recovery this is Apply Update).
- Navigate to
/sdcard
and select the CyanogenMod.zip
package. - Follow the on-screen notices to install the package.
- Optional: Install any additional packages you wish using the same method (if you are installing multiple packages, install CyanogenMod first and then install any subsequent packages on top of it).
- Once installation has finished, return to the main menu and select Reboot, then System. The device will now boot into CyanogenMod.
Note: Installing a custom ROM on your device may result in loss of data or accidental bricking of the device so we urge our readers to kindly read the instructions carefully before attempting to install new ROM. Also don't forget to take complete backup of your device just in case.
