Tom Holland Reveals Spider-Man: Homecoming’S Scariest Action Scene

The 20-year-old actor explains that he was initially keen to do the stunt himself, saying, “I was like, ‘Let me to it. Let me do it.’ When I saw [the stunt double] do it and get dunked in the lake, I [was] so happy I let him do that one because that was the scariest thing I’ve ever seen. Can you imagine? Flying under a helicopter and being dunked in a lake. I don’t get paid enough for that shit. Sorry! Again. Again. I can’t help it. I’m sorry.”

Elsewhere in the Q&A, the Spider-Man actor reveals how he had a difficult time initially believing he had actually been chosen for the role, thinking he might be the victim of a prank in the wake of the Sony Pictures hack. He also discloses how he told an old friend that after being cast as Spider-Man he felt certain his alter ego could beat Batman in a fight.

Directed by Jon Watts (“Clown”) from a script by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” also stars Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr. The film swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
