Android Marshmallow 6.0 update for YU Yunicorn is available now
Yunicorn devices are now receiving the Android Marshmallow update through OTA. The update has been quietly released by the YU. This makes it the first device to receive an official Marshmallow update. The device which was launched earlier this year in May with 4 GB of RAM exclusively on Flipkart. It was the first device launched by the company after ending it's partnership with Cyanogen and it was powered by it's very own OS, a forked version of Android named "Android on Steroids" or AOS. The integration of the proprietary "Around YU" in the device which combines movie, cab, flight and many more functionality in one app. Yunique is the only online device launched by YU this year which quite heavily relied on online only model early on.
The update should come as a relief for Yunicorn users who were promised the future upgrade at the time of launch and have been waiting for it eagerly. Users started reporting the update notifications earlier today. The build size is approx 1 GB (953.31 MB) and from the notifications it looks like build was finished on 21st November. The update comes with usual notifications warning like taking backup, having a full charge battery, sufficient backup and so on. You can read the rest of the notifications in the image below.

So if you're among the owners of Yunicorn and are yet to receive the update check your settings manually for update as it is now available to all users with stock ROM. You can do so by following these steps:
Settings→About Phones→System Updates
or similar pathway in case of customized settings.
