Yureka or Yu the highly anticipated phone India smartphone company Micromax has been announced and it is going to be an Amazon India
exclusive.
Update : The device won't be instantly available as it seems to follow the Xiaomi flash sale model where you register for device first and then you can buy it by first come first serve basis on 13th January, 2015. There is no mention of the number of device that will be available but given the price range the phone should be in high demands.
They are also giving a "Genuine Leather Cover" worth ₹999 for free to those who register before 25th December 2014 and manage to buy the phone on 13th January, 2015

The Yu! phone has been teased for quite long by Micromax and is expected to be a game changer in the medium range smartphones competition currently going in the country. Cyanogen exclusivity deal also lead to the ban of OnePlus One device from the country,
The Yureka has a 5.5-inch, 1280x720 resolution IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC with 1.5GHz octa-core CPU and Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal memory with microSD card slot, 13 megapixel Sony IMX135 rear camera with 24fps burst mode and f2.2 aperture, 5 megapixel front camera, 4G LTE connectivity, dual SIM support, 2,500mAh battery and Cyanogen OS 11.
The features and specifications of the phone seems very impressive considering the price range and it puts a very direct competition to likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G yet to be launched and newly launched Lumia 638.

Though believed to be Micromax product Rahul Sharma explained to Indian Express “This is a completely different venture, it is a different company. The only common things are that I am a founder for both companies and that it is a 100 per cent owned subsidiary of Micromax,”
He also added that it will be the first OEM to offer replacement and on-site repair. “Why should someone who has bought the phone online take it to a service centre for repairs?” There will be minimal advertisement and the sell will rely on social media and word of mouth publicity.If the phone performs according to its specification there is minimal doubt that it will sell like hot cakes. We will just have to wait and see the phone's performance.
