Incremental OTA Security Update for YU Yutopia (YU5050) Released


YU and Cyanogen has released an incremental update for YU Yutopia (YU5050) which is aimed at improving the security on YU Yutopia. The update version YOG4PAS5W0 is aimed at fixing some issues related to fingerprint scanner. The update will roll out in phases starting today and completely released in next two weeks.

Here's more details regarding the update from YU Forums: 
1. The fingerprint reader now allows for five unsuccessful attempts. The old code only allowed for three.
2. When the user reaches five failed attempts the fingerprint reader will time out for 15 seconds. The user will feel multiple vibrations from the reader on the final failed attempt letting them know to unlock their device.
3. After 15 seconds the user can again attempt to unlock the device with their finger.
4. If the device Backlight is ON, then on the final failed attempt the user will be shown the Password/PIN entry screen.
