YU Yunique a budget smartphone from YU was launched in September last year with Pure Android and an option to install Cyanogen OS which was announced to released later. However despite being more than 6 months since it's launch Cyanogen OS is no where to be released. But if you still want Cyanogen on your Yunique, CyanogenMod community has released Nightlies for Yunique YU4711 titled 'jalebi'. We have put together this guide to help you install CyanogenMod Nightlies on your Yunique.

Note: Nightlies are not official build so it may contain some bugs and/or stability issues be sure to check them out before installation.
Manual installation of a custom ROM may end up soft-bricking your device if not performed properly. We urge readers to read the guide carefully and perform steps carefully. YSP Blog won't be responsible for any problems caused by improper installation.

Requirements: 

1. YU  Yunique with unlocked bootloader

If you don't have unlocked bootloader check the official guide here

2. TeamWin Recovery Image

Download directly here or get latest image yourself here

3. PC with working fastboot and adb

Once you have unlocked bootloader of your Yunique and downloaded the zip package and recovery proceed to the steps below:

Installing recovery using fastboot

1. Connect the Yunique to the computer via USB
2. place the recovery image in the same directory as fastboot
3. Open command prompt and reboot the device into fastboot mode usingadb reboot bootloaderalternatively you can use the hardware keys
4. Flash recovery onto your device by entering the following command:fastboot flash recovery your_recovery_image.img

Verify the installation of recovery by holding the Volume Down and Power buttons and check whether it goes into recovery or not.

Installing CyanogenMod from recovery

Boot to recovery mode now:

• With the device powered down, hold the Volume Down and Power buttons.

 Place the CyanogenMod .zip package, as well as any optional .zip packages, on the root of /sdcard:

• Using adb: adb push filename.zip /sdcard/

1. In Team Win Recovery Project, select menu choices by tapping on the appropriately labelled button.
2. Optional (Recommended): Select the Backup button to create a backup.
3. Select Wipe and then Factory Reset.
4. Select Install (if you're running Cyanogen recovery this is Apply Update).
5. Navigate to /sdcard and select the CyanogenMod .zip package.
6. Follow the on-screen notices to install the package.
7. Optional: Install any additional packages you wish using the same method (if you are installing multiple packages, install CyanogenMod first and then install any subsequent packages on top of it).
8. Once installation has finished, return to the main menu and select Reboot, then System. The device will now boot into CyanogenMod.

Note: Installing a custom ROM on your device may result in loss of data or accidental bricking of the device so we urge our readers to kindly read the instructions carefully before attempting to install new ROM. Also don't forget to take complete backup of your device just in case.
