Automate Common Android Tasks Using Cyanogen’s System

Create custom profiles In Andorid To Automate Common Tasks

The System Profiles feature in Cyanogen OS puts the smart in smartphone. It enables you to automatically change system settings when triggered by a specific event. This trigger may be turning on Wi-Fi, or plugging in your headphones, or touching against an NFC tag, and you could use it to keep your phone unlocked when you’re at home, or to change the volume when listening to music. All the tiny settings adjustments you make every day to overcome minor annoyances can become fully automated. It’s like a less ambitious version of Tasker, only a lot more user-friendly. The triggers can also include a set time, or you can activate profiles manually with a long-press of the power button.

Steps:-

  • Find the profiles

Go to Settings>Profiles to begin. Tap the + icon to create a new Profile, and give it a name if prompted. We’re going to make a quick Battery Saver profile. You will now see a list of settings you can configure. Select Wi-Fi and then tap it.

  • Configure the profile

You’re given the option to choose what to do with the Wi-Fi setting. For our battery saver example, we want to Disable it. Now work through any other features you want to turn off to save power, such as data or Bluetooth.

  • Activate a profile

When done, save your profile. You can activate it every time you need to save power by holding down the power button and selecting the profile from the list. You could also set a trigger so the profile works automatically at night.
